Our adorable grandson Evan was baptized on Sunday October 21, 2012 at San Carlos Church in Monterey CA.
Al and I made a road trip out of it and stopped along the way to visit with artist friends, Margaret and Flo and their spouses and see their wonderful encaustic art studios. I also had a meeting with the director, and associate director of San Luis Obispo Museum of Art in preparation for my art show in the fall of 2013. We stayed at Pacific Grove Bed and Breakfast and enjoyed our time in the Monterey Peninsula, one of my favorite areas of California.

I am happy to have been accepted into a juried show curated by the advanced students of the Museum Studies Program from Mesa College. These students visited my gallery and we had such a great time choosing the work for the show and talking about my art process. The show,"Organic Colonies" begins with the opening at a reception Sat. November 10, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at GARAGE 4141 Alabama St. #4 San Diego, Ca 92104. Other artists in the show are Jenny Armer, Renatta Happe, Therese Herron, Socrates Medina.  I look forward to seeing you.

I have been working in my studio finally completing art series that needed finishing. Projects are inspired by the materials that I find appealing, or the project is informed by an idea that has been brewing. Either way I love creating art. And I love how I feel when I am in my studio working.

The most enjoyable was working with San Diego artist Viviana Lombrazo on a collaborative sculptural encaustic and fiber art piece. She is a fabulous artist and I felt honored to work with her. We have submitted our work to the juried biennial Canon Art Gallery in Carlsbad. I will post the photo of our work once we know if we have been accepted... or not. We worked really well together and both of us loved the result.
Blessings to all on the east coast affected by the horrendous hurricane and storms.
