Here are some photos from the Honey and the Hive Exhibition from Morristown Museum of Art  Morristown New Jersey where I was invited to display some of my encaustic assemblage and sculptural pieces.  It was an honor to be a part of this fantastic educational exhibit where science and art truly came together. Some of the photos show the process of bee keeping and the honey  and wax produced during this exhibit.  Enjoy.

I went to a fascinating lecture today by Amanda Schaffer, Beeswax Ex-Votos: Healing Objects from the Middle Ages. Ex-Votos were like Milagros or offerings in the shape of the body part that needed healing but created out of beeswax. They were considered miraculous by pilgrims seeking healing for themselves or others. Ms. Schaffer showed the 2-piece mould casting process and examples of the Ex-Votos that she created.
